Summer may be long gone, with T-shirts and flip flops now a distant memory as the woolly jumpers come out to keep the autumn chill at bay, but that certainly doesn't mean any less XCLUSIVES!
A lovely perk of the job is getting to see events and shows ahead of their big launch, and I was more than a little excited to get invited to the London preview of the world’s best selling touring magic show The Illusionists – Witness The Impossible! The show, originally a smash hit on Broadway, is now set to dazzle London’s West End! Preview night took place at Café De Paris, a perfect setting for illusion and intrigue with its gothic backdrop and decadent chandeliers. The evening offered a delectable slice of magical fun and an opportunity to get up close and personal with several of the magicians appearing in the main show. I watched performances at the edge of my seat (had I been sitting!).
Mesmerised by the skill and gracefulness of The Manipulator, staggered by the ‘how did he know that?’ deductions of Colin Cloud, entertained by magician Jamie Raven and transfixed by escapologist Andrew Basso (who freed himself from a padlocked tank filled with water, while submerged upside down). Not for the faint hearted! Magic has that wonderful power of transporting you back to a place of childhood wonder and awe. A great evening of entertainment, intrigue and, above all, magical! The Trickster, David Williamson is known and loved by many as one of the most hilarious comedy magicians … ever. His wicked sense of humour, combined with unrivalled, spectacular illusions has cemented David as a firm favourite and a must-see in the world of magic. With high praise from The International Brotherhood of Magicians, David has also been awarded “Most Wanted Magician” and has previously worked alongside fellow star illusionists David Blaine and David Copperfield and has also hosted hit UK TV series. The Inventor, Kevin James. Known for innovative illusions, Kevin is an inventor, comedian and collector of the strange and unusual. Kevin is one of the most prolific inventors of magic in the world and has created some of the most celebrated illusions of the last century.

He is the forensic mind-reader, described by Uri Geller as “one of the greatest thought reader of all time”, is the next big thing in the mind-blowing world of Mentalism.
The Warrior, Ben Blaque. An American master illusionist, Ben has mastered the crossbow and developed ‘The Danger Act’, which mixes magic with target shooting and has to be seen to be believed. Having taken his magic around the globe, Ben leaves audiences truly stunned by his performances.
