Biography

Consistently active in the performing arts from an early age, Kat has always harbored a love of entertaining especially through the act of song.  Citing influences from the Empress of Soul Etta James to the poetic Jill Scott, her taste for soulful tones and jazzy grooves creep into her own music. Singing from the age of seven, music and song-writing have always provided a vehicle for repressed frustrations, elevating joy and all those things in between.

Brought up on eclectic styles of music, it isn't the genre that matters, but the emotion that reaches beyond the music. During Kats musical career she has also looked to her Cypriot roots for inspiration and has become well known in her community as an artist; Winning 1st place at the New Talent contest organized in conjunction with the Cyprus Wine Festival at Alexander Palace in 2001. 




A graduate of the highly coveted Commercial Music degree at The University of Westminster Kat won a 2 year scholarship with the Westminster Voices Gospel Choir; recording with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Previous musical projects include both greek and english collaborations, working with Crocodile Music Records as a lyricist and performer on the enigmatic greek track entitled "The Embrace" - the theme song from the BBC2 TV series: Rick Stein Mediterranean Escapes 2007. Kat has additionally featured as a vocalist on the CD release "The Cypriot Collection" for the track Chakara Makara, produced by Harry K in 2008.

 In 2009 Kats self penned composition "I Believe" was selected as one of the 10 finalists to compete in the televised Eurovision National Final for Cyprus, several successful club remixes of the track soon followed, including one by renowned producer Tim Allan of the Hong Kong Blondes. 


                              

Kats love of performing live has seen her grace the stage of many festivals and major events including appearing at the HMV Forum for a musical tribute to two Greek greats; singers Stelios Kazantzidis and Grigoris Bithikotsis alongside Dimitris Mpasis. 

When not on-stage and performing, Katerina presents her own DJ show 'Scandalous' live on LGR 103.3fm every Tuesday and also writes a weekly Music Column called XCLUSIVE!
